About Me

Carole Atkins is a qualified Speech and Language Therapist and English Teacher.

She trained as a Speech and Language Therapist at Queen Margaret College in Edinburgh and completed her teacher training at the University of Oxford. 


 Carole has worked for over 25 years in education including hands-on experience with the Disability Services Commission, Education Queensland and the University of the Sunshine Coast in Australia, Tai-Da National University in Taiwan, Special Education in New Zealand, NHS Carmarthen in Wales and NHS Orkney in Scotland. 


 Carole  received an Excellence in Education Award from the Education Department of Western Australia in 1996 for excellence in providing Speech and Language Therapy services for children in Perth. 


 Carole offers innovative, down-to-earth intervention programmes which are realistic to manage with your child at home. She is extremely flexible and will work with your family to find the approach which is the best fit for your child’s unique needs. 


 Carole’s warm, nurturing and compassionate approach encourages every child to work towards their communication potential and express who they are. 


 A member of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists www.rcslt.org and registered with the Health and Care Professions Council www.hpcuk.org, Carole engages in regular professional development ensuring she is using up-to-date and evidence-based therapy practices combined with her extensive clinical experience.
